This included works within the lakebed and therefore innovative thinking was required to provide isolated working platforms to protect several protected species including New Zealand Freshwater Mussels, the Southern-Crested Grebe and aquatic flora.
Enviroscope also designed and executed a water quality monitoring program during the works. This constrained site on Wānaka’s iconic waterfront required careful management of all environmental elements including erosion and sediment control, noise, vibration, contaminated soil, and heritage. The project achieved an excellent track record of environmental compliance from the Queenstown Lakes District Council.
